    ABOUT THE BEAN:

Named after a local village of the same name, Werka is a washing station located in the renowned Sidamo coffee region in south-east Ethiopia. Werka is run by Faysel A. Yonis, who acquires coffee cherries from local small-scale farmers to process at his washing station. Mr Yonis is dedicated to supporting local farming communities in tangible and positive ways: investing back into the community to develop social conditions and improve livelihoods.

Sidamo produces some of the most complex and best coffees in the world. This fully washed offering from Werka exemplifies everything we love about coffee from the region. Expect a cup brimming with the fruit-forward flavours of lemon blossom and yellow peach, coupled with a mellow body reminiscent of black tea. This is a quintessentially Ethiopian coffee – we can’t get enough of it.
