    ABOUT THE BEAN:

This special micro-lot was produced by the Rwamweru Women's Collective in the Kigoma Sector of Huye District, in Rwanda's Southern Province. The Rwamweru collective is made up of 76 women from Kigarama Village who grow coffee on small farms in the hills surrounding Karambi washing station, and operate as part of the Koakaka Cooperative.

Koakaka Cooperative is a member-owned cooperative made up of over a thousand small-scale coffee producers, who are able to process their cherries centrally and combine their individual harvests into volumes that are large enough for export. Their mission is simple: to produce exceptional coffee, to consistently improve the welfare of members and to actively protect the environment.

This coffee is characterised by heavy sweetness and juicy character, with a distinct flavour profile of plum, honey and black tea in the cup. It has been produced meticulously using pristine natural spring water from the surrounding mountains. The team at Karambi are meticulous in their approach to processing, to ensure the highest coffee quality possible is achieved and the results speak for themselves in the cup.
