Ethiopia, Uraga (Washed)
ABOUT THE BEAN
Fresh and cooked nectarine flavours. Mild tangy malic acidity with delicate sugary sweetness.
Uraga is a woreda in the Guji zone, where coffee is grown on very small farms alongside corn, barley, beans, and wheat. Both washed and natural coffees are produced at the Uraga washing station. Although this offering is not traceable to a single variety, it consists of native heirloom varieties cultivated in Ethiopia.
The ripe cherries were picked and depulped the same day. The cherries were then fermented in open air tanks for 8-12 hours. After fermentation, the coffee beans were placed on raised beds to dry for up to 15 days depending on the weather.
