Back in 2016, STITCH COFFEE founder Nawar contributed to a fundraiser that helped smallholder producer Miguel Fajardo Mendoza plant exclusive Wush Wush coffee trees on the gorgeous Finca El Fénix farm in Quindío, Colombia.
To say thank you for his donation, the farm asked Nawar to name one lot of the new trees. Nawar called the lot Alma Fatima after his mother, which translates to ‘the spirit of Fatima’.
Eight years on and the coffee trees has fully flourished, to the point that we can once again present Colombia, Alma Fatima as our top single origin pick for the season. Just like Fatima, this coffee has been here from the beginning, encouraging growth and bringing much joy into the world. We raise our cups to you, Fatima.
The premium price of this coffee reflects the artisan nature of the farm's production and harvesting methods. The Wush Wush trees on El Fénix grow at the farm's highest point, which becomes evident when cupping (the profile could be mistaken for a Geisha)! Only producing a small yield every season, the cherries boast distinctly striped orange variances.
Since its inception, Finca El Fénix has always been more than just a farm; it's also home to an organic, rare-variety coffee forest, community wet mill, and post-harvest lab. Being able to present a rare Wush Wush variety that's also undergone honey processing (a process distinct to Central and South America) is a true privilege.
T&Cs: 15% off excludes gift cards, subscriptions, and already discounted products. Should a customer add more than two additional items to their order alongside Alma Fatima, the 15% off applies to the cheaper items. Bonus tote is the natural canvas Stitch Coffee bag (will be automatically added to online customer orders post-purchase). Offer ends Sunday, 12 May 2024 at 11:59pm.
